Following a few days of relative relief from the recent heat wave, temperatures in Pasadena are expected to climb past 105 degrees this weekend, prompting city officials to reopen their cooling center Friday through Labor Day.
Patchy morning fog and partially sunny conditions in the high-80s through Wednesday before creeping into the low-90s on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
By Friday afternoon, high temperatures around 98 degrees are predicted. After that, it will get even hotter.
A high of 105 degrees is in the forecast for Saturday, followed by 106 degrees on Sunday, according to the NWS.
“Near normal temperatures across the region will continue through midweek, as well as overnight through morning low clouds along the coast and into adjacent valleys,” according to a statement from the agency. “A more significant warming trend is expected to occur at the end of the week as another round of record heat is expected over the holiday weekend.”
As a result, Pasadena plans to open its cooling center at the Robinson Park Recreation Center, 1081 N. Fair Oaks Ave, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Monday, city officials said. Social distancing and face coverings are required.

Wednesday: Patchy fog before noon. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 89. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 91.
Thursday Night: Clear, with a low around 74.
Friday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 98.
Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 74.
Saturday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 105.
