A Pasadena company called SoniClear launched new software Friday designed to automate the creation of government meeting minutes.
The Windows-based application called Transcriber 10 uses artificial intelligence to produce meeting minutes from audio and video recordings, capturing motions, votes, action items, and discussion summaries, the company said in a statement.
“Transcriber 10 represents a giant leap in meeting documentation technology,” said SoniClear Chief Executive Officer Alan Bartholomew.
“We’ve listened closely to the challenges faced by government clerks and professionals, and have developed a solution that saves time while preserving the required accuracy of meeting minutes.”
Transcriber 10 features include compatibility with various recording sources, including platforms like Zoom, Teams, and Webex, AI-powered transcription, and customizable templates. The software can also incorporate meeting agendas and export files to Microsoft Word.
“It’s not just about saving time and resources; it’s about maintaining the quality and accessibility of public records, which is crucial for good governance,” said Lynn Rawden, SoniClear’s director of marketing.
The company offers two versions: Transcriber 10 Pro, an annual subscription priced at $360 with 40 hours of transcription time and the ability to install on multiple computers at no extra charge, and Integrated Transcriber 10, which works with SoniClear’s Gov Recorder 10 system.
SoniClear, based in Old Pasadena, has provided digital recording and transcription solutions for governments and courts for 20 years. For more information, call (626) 768-0126.
