Pasadena Transit riders can now access a new premium app features for free. The agency announced Wednesday that it has partnered with Transit to offer the paid version of its ride-tracking app, Transit Royale, at no cost to users. The app provides real-time tracking and accurate arrival times for Pasadena Transit and other regional services.
The free premium upgrade, normally priced at $5 per month or $25 per year, will be automatically available to all riders traveling in Pasadena, regardless of which transit agency they use.
Existing app users will see Transit Royale unlock automatically the next time they open the application.
Transit Royale expands the app’s functionality with several premium features. Users can access upcoming departures, route maps, and vehicle tracking for all transit lines, not just those in close proximity. The upgrade also enables trip planning days or weeks in advance with full schedules and departure times for any line.
Additional premium features include Transit’s GO feature, which guides users throughout their trips with customizable emojis and nicknames, personalized app icons and color schemes, and an expanded selection of icons for marking favorite places.
“Whether you are checking the status of your favorite bus route or need step-by-step directions to get somewhere new, Transit and Pasadena Transit have you covered,” the announcement explains.
For those new to the app, Pasadena Transit has made video tutorials available in both English and Spanish. Users with additional questions can visit help.transit.app for examples, frequently asked questions, or to contact the support team directly.
The Transit app can be downloaded from smartphone app stores, with the Transit Royale premium features now included at no additional cost for Pasadena riders.
