The collapse was reported by RMG at about 1:41 a.m. in the 600 block of East Ladera Street.
The tree is touching the roofs of two homes, causing only minor damage, said Lisa Derderian, Pasadena’s Chief Communications Officer.
She added that the tree also came down on two vehicles — one of which sustained significant damage, while branches from the tree rested on the other.
Derderian said that crews would work to relieve some of the weight to reduce pressure on the affected structures after daybreak. A crane will be required to complete that work, she added.
Footage from the scene showed the tree resting on the house and car with power lines tangled in the branches and yellow caution tape securing the area.
The cause is not known.
Recent storms earlier in February saturated soil across Pasadena, a condition city officials have previously said can lead to delayed tree failures even after the weather clears.
