Pasadena will be under a heat advisory from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with an extreme heat watch to follow Monday evening through Friday evening, according to an advisory issued the National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard.
The weather service said temperatures during the heat advisory tomorrow are expected to range from 82 to 98 degrees, while dangerously hot conditions with temperatures of 90 to 104 degrees are possible during the extreme heat watch.
Forecasters warned of a high risk for dangerous heat illness for anyone, especially the very young, the very old, those without air conditioning and those active outdoors. The same high-risk conditions apply to sensitive populations throughout the advisory and watch periods, with the weather service emphasizing that prolonged exposure could increase the likelihood of heat-related illness.
The National Weather Service urged residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms when possible, stay out of the sun and check on relatives and neighbors.
The agency also advised wearing lightweight and loose-fitting clothing outdoors, limiting strenuous activity to early morning or evening hours and taking action if symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke appear.
