Pasadena Venture Fund Launches $100,000 Quantum Startup Pitch Competition

Qubits Ventures, a Pasadena-based pioneering venture fund focusing on quantum technology, has announced the opening of applications for its inaugural $100,000 Quantum Startup Pitch Competition. 

Aspiring quantum entrepreneurs can now apply for a chance to secure vital funding for their projects and the opportunity to present at the Q2B 2023 Silicon Valley conference on Dec. 5 to 7. 

The competition is open to a wide array of quantum companies, encompassing quantum applications, quantum devices, quantum systems, and transitional/bridge tech. 

“I am excited to provide this funding opportunity for early-stage quantum companies that ultimately may be able to accelerate their impact on societal problems,” Nardo Manaloto, founder and managing partner of Qubits Ventures, said. “While this quickly evolving industry already has numerous global conferences, we selected Q2B Silicon Valley for the pitch competition because it is one of the longest-running conferences and continues to attract the most important quantum players alongside promising younger startups ready to scale.”

Early-stage quantum startups are invited to submit their applications online by Nov. 15. Submissions will be evaluated based on criteria such as uniqueness, feasibility, financial viability, and market desirability.

Seven finalists will be selected from the pool of applicants. These finalists will have the opportunity to present their company’s value proposition to potential investors during a live session at Q2B Silicon Valley on Dec. 6. Eligibility extends to startups focusing on quantum solutions that have raised less than $5 million in funding or are in the pre-seed or seed-level funding stages. 

In addition to the financial prize at stake, finalists will gain significant visibility among the hundreds of conference attendees, including media, venture capital funds, and analysts.

The Q2B Silicon Valley 2023 conference will mark the seventh edition of the Q2B conference, with leading academics, industry experts, government representatives, and quantum computing vendors from around the world attending.
