A 41-year-old Pasadena woman was arrested early Saturday after striking a man with a drinking glass during a domestic dispute that left both the victim and the suspect hospitalized, according to Pasadena Police Lt. Monica Cuellar.

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance at approximately 5:32 a.m. on the 100 block of Marengo Avenue, Cuellar said. They found a 45-year-old Pasadena man inside the residence suffering from a four-inch laceration to his head.

The victim was in a relationship with the suspect, Cuellar said. The investigation revealed that during an argument, the suspect struck the victim with a drinking glass, causing the injury.

A witness, identified as a 32-year-old Azusa man, attempted to intervene but was also assaulted, according to Cuellar. The witness was not injured. He was the one who called 911 to report the disturbance, Cuellar said.

Officers later learned the suspect had sustained a facial fracture during the altercation, Cuellar said. How she sustained that injury remains under investigation.

Both the victim and the suspect were transported to a local hospital for treatment, Cuellar said.

The suspect was the only person arrested in connection with the incident, according to Cuellar. The cause of the argument was not immediately known.
