Two men forced their way into a Pasadena home Saturday night, injuring a 67-year-old woman before fleeing with $40 and personal items, according to Pasadena Police Lt. Sam De Sylva.
Officers responded at about 10:08 p.m. June 13 to the 400 block of El Nido Avenue after the victim reported confronting two intruders inside her residence, De Sylva said. He clarified that an earlier reference to a 3 p.m. time was an unrelated log-in timestamp and not connected to the burglary.
De Sylva said the suspects entered by breaking a ground-floor sliding glass door. The victim, a 67-year-old white Pasadena resident, was in another part of the home and did not hear the glass break. She later heard noises coming from an upstairs office and found the two men inside, he said.
When confronted, the suspects ran past the woman, knocking her to the floor as they escaped through the broken door and fled south on foot, according to De Sylva. The victim sustained visible swelling and complained of pain but declined medical treatment. She was alone at the time of the burglary.
The loss was $40 and personal items, De Sylva said.
Both suspects were described only as men dressed in black clothing, with no further description available. No weapons were reported. Officers checked the area for surveillance, but none was available at the time, according to De Sylva.
Detectives from the burglary division are handling the investigation, he said.
