The Pasadena City College Board of Trustees voted to cancel PCC’s winter intersession at its July 1 meeting, according to published reports.
The college reportedly faces a projected $7.7 million deficit for the upcoming fiscal year. Canceling the winter intersession is expected to save an estimated $3.9 million, according to the PCC Courier student newspaper.
“My understanding is that there are certain block programs, like cosmetology and other vocational classes that will continue, but we have approved canceling the winter session,” Dr. Jeanette Mann, president of the board, told the Courier.
