Pasadena City College’s Math/Science Upward Bound (MSUB) Program is participating in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The program, which lasts for four weeks, provides breakfast and lunch for incoming students, grades 9 through 12, from the El Monte and Pasadena Unified School Districts.

“This program provides nutritious meals to students who may not get food at home,” said Joy Brittain, MSUB director.

The program has nutritional requirements that must be filled, which is a huge benefit, according to Brittain. “It forces the students to eat fairly well,” she said.

Breakfast is served from 7:45 to 8:15 a.m., and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in The Piazza in PCC’s Campus Center.

“It’s been great,” Brittain said. “It helps our students quite a bit.”
