Published on Saturday, June 28, 2025 | 2:25 pm

[2:06 p.m.] Pasadena Police Chief Gene Harris issued a public statement Saturday afternoon following immigration enforcement activity earlier in the day at the intersection of Del Mar Boulevard and Catalina Avenue.
According to Chief Harris, Pasadena police officers responded to a 911 call reporting suspicious activity around 7:30 a.m. Officers and a supervisor arrived at the scene and determined the activity was part of a federal operation conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Pasadena police were not involved in, and did not assist with the apprehension of a woman who ICE agents detained.
Here is Chief Harris’ statement:
“On Saturday, June 28, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Pasadena Police (PPD) received a 911 call of suspicious activity at Del Mar Blvd/Catalina Ave. Officers and a Supervisor responded to evaluate the circumstances and discovered it was an ICE operation and PPD verified their identification. The agents detained one female without incident and PPD did not assist ICE in the apprehension as PPD was solely there for the call for service. Pasadena Fire was called to evaluate the adult female detainee and she was treated on scene and did not wish to go to the hospital. The detainee’s family was very cooperative in diffusing the situation. PPD remained on scene to provide for public safety as a small group gathered.”
This is a developing story. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
