The Pasadena Police Department conducted the sobriety checkpoint operation last Friday, February 7 on South Arroyo Parkway.
Department officials emphasized that while these results were promising, driving under the influence remains a significant public safety concern throughout the city.
The police department warned that DUI violations can result in fines and legal expenses reaching $10,000, alongside increased insurance rates and potential employment loss.
Officials cautioned that offenders face license suspension, mandatory court appearances, and possible jail time, emphasizing the irreversible consequence of potentially taking a human life.
Law enforcement officials urged residents to utilize ride-sharing services or designate sober drivers, noting that such alternatives are substantially less expensive than the financial burden of a DUI.
The Department also recommended downloading ride-sharing applications before going out and encouraged party hosts to provide overnight accommodations or arrange safe transportation.
