Police Investigating Stabbing, Suspect at Large

A 60-year-old Pasadena man was hospitalized Tuesday night after being stabbed in the shoulder during an altercation with a woman at his home, Pasadena Police Lieutenant Thomas Blanchard said.

Pasadena Police officers responded at about 8:45 p.m. to Fair Oaks Avenue and Orange Grove Boulevard after a male caller reported that a female suspect had stabbed him in the arm and that he was bleeding, according to Blanchard.

On arrival, officers found the victim with a one-inch puncture wound to his left shoulder. The man told police he had been visiting with the suspect at his home, and that both had been drinking alcohol. He said the suspect grabbed his cell phone without provocation, refused to return it, and during the ensuing argument produced a knife and stabbed him once in the shoulder, Blanchard said.

The suspect fled before police arrived, and the victim called authorities. The Pasadena Fire Department transported the man to a local hospital for treatment, Blanchard said.

The victim identified the suspect by name and confirmed her identity with photo identification. Police recovered the cell phone, but the knife was not located. The suspect, described as a 74-year-old African American woman from Pasadena, remains at large, Blanchard said.
