Pasadena police arrested Sarkis Kolkajian, a 40-year-old man from Pasadena, after he allegedly assaulted and threatened to kill a 67-year-old man during a family disturbance on Friday, July 19, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Andrea Perez.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:22 a.m. in the 1600 block of Locust Street, said Perez.
Officers responded to the location following a call about a family disturbance. Upon arrival, they were told that Kolkajian had assaulted the elderly victim with his fist, Perez said.
The victim said that when he told Kolkajian during the incident that he was going to call the police, Kolkajian got two kitchen knives and threatened to kill him, according to Perez.
Perez said the suspect then fled before police arrived but was later located and arrested.
The victim suffered a one inch contusion to his right temple from the assault and was treated at the scene by Pasadena Fire Dept. paramedics.
