Two men were arrested Friday night after Pasadena police officers recovered a loaded handgun during a traffic stop according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Matt Campeau.
Campeau said officers conducted the stop at about 10:33 p.m. on a gray Dodge for a vehicle code violation near Raymond Avenue and Grand View Street.
As the vehicle pulled into a residence driveway in the 1400 block of North Raymond Avenue, the front passenger reportedly got out quickly while the car was still in motion. Both the driver and passenger were detained without incident.
A search of the immediate area allegedly led to the discovery of a loaded Taurus G3C 9mm handgun approximately three feet from the vehicle, Campeau said.
The suspects were identified as Morgan McLaurin, 28, of Highland, and Keondre Simmons, 35, of Pomona. Both men were taken into custody and booked at the Pasadena City Jail on multiple weapons-related violations, Campeau said.
No injuries were reported, and no drugs were found at the scene, according to Campeau.
