Preschoolers from Families Forward Visit Pasadena Fire Station 36

Thirty-two preschoolers from Families Forward Learning Center took a walking field trip Friday, Oct. 17, up Fair Oaks Avenue to Fire Station 36, where they met firefighters and explored emergency vehicles.

The children toured a fire engine and ambulance, watched flashing lights and sirens, and learned about emergency response. One firefighter donned full gear to demonstrate what responders look like during a crisis, reassuring children that firefighters are helpers, not figures to fear.

Teachers accompanied the group on the short walk from the center’s campus at 980 N. Fair Oaks Ave. The visit was designed to be both educational and engaging, with firefighters answering questions and showing equipment. The team at Fire Station 36 was thanked for making the experience welcoming and informative.

Families Forward Learning Center is a nonprofit serving low-income families in Pasadena and Altadena. Its mission is to prepare families living in isolation and poverty to succeed in school and in life through Two-Generation learning programs.
