Pasadena police Lt. Sean Dawkins told KTLA that the first known incident occurred Tuesday about 8:30 pm.
The prowler entered the backyards of two locations. A Ring camera recorded him outside at least one of those homes, KTLA reported.
KTLA’s Tony Kurzweil said a video showed the man “walking up to the front porch carrying what appears to be a knife and a shoe in his right hand.” The man sharpened his knife on the shoe, then opened the screen door and tested the front door to see if it was locked. Unable to get inside, he relaxes in a nearby chair and waves to the home security camera.
Another video captured the same man trying to enter a home through a window after removing the screen.
Unable to gain entry and apparently frustrated, the man thrusts the knife into a tree, takes off his sweatshirt, pulls the knife out of the tree and leaves, according to KTLA.
No assaults or burglaries have been reported in the area so far, according to KTLA.
