Quick-Thinking 9-Year-Old Escapes Attempted Kidnapping in Pasadena

A nine-year-old boy escaped an attempted kidnapping unscathed on Sunday, January 7, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Edgar Sanchez. The incident occurred at 4:34 p.m. on the 400 block of North Holliston Avenue.

The boy was riding his scooter when the suspect pulled up next to him and grabbed his sweater through the passenger side window. Despite the sudden attack, the boy managed to break free and flee the area.

The suspect, described as a white man in his twenties with green eyes and blonde hair, was last seen driving away in a blue vehicle. He was wearing a black shirt and white pants at the time of the incident.

Officers responded to the scene and conducted a search, but were unable to locate the suspect or his vehicle. No further description of the vehicle is available, and no weapons were used during the incident. 

The investigation is ongoing.
