Friday is expected to be a rainy day in Pasadena and thunderstorms could occur from late this morning into the evening as a cold front brings stormy weather to most of southwest California.
Patchy fog will be present in the morning before 11 a.m. and temperatures will be significantly lower, a high near 65, with winds blowing from the south at five to 15 miles per hour and gusts as high as 25 mph.
A Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the National Weather Service for the Pasadena area says “any thunderstorms that develop may cause brief intense downpours, gusty winds, and small hail. Rainfall rates may be high enough, especially in thunderstorms, to pose some threat of mud and debris flows in and below recent burn areas.”
Friday’s chance of precipitation is 90 percent but goes up to 100 percent tonight as showers continue into early Saturday morning.
Saturday will be sunny and accompanied by some warming but temperatures will still be below normal. Highs will be near 67, lows around 49, and a calm south to southwest wind will blow around five mph into the evening.
Sunday will be mostly sunny, highs near 69 and lows at 53, but then another frontal system pushes across northern California and sags southward Sunday night, bringing clouds and some light rain across Pasadena and southwestern California into Monday morning.
