Pasadena residents will experience below-normal temperatures and persistent marine layer conditions through Friday before rain arrives Saturday, according to National Weather Service forecasters.
Thursday’s high temperature will reach only about 68 degrees, approximately 10 degrees below seasonal averages for late April. Morning fog and patchy drizzle will give way to partly sunny skies by afternoon, with light southwest winds of 5 to 10 mph.
The marine layer will remain stubborn across the region over the next 24 to 48 hours. Thursday night will bring fog and patchy drizzle with overnight lows around 53 degrees.
Friday will continue the cool pattern with high temperatures dropping slightly to around 66 degrees, with morning clouds and fog slowly clearing by afternoon.
Saturday’s temperatures will struggle to reach 60 degrees — approximately 15 degrees below normal for this time of year. Rain is expected to develop by late morning, with chances increasing to 60% by afternoon. Rainfall amounts could range from one-tenth to one-third of an inch, tapering off by evening.
“Weekend visitors to Pasadena should plan around Saturday’s wet weather,” meteorologists advised.
Wind conditions will remain relatively mild throughout the forecast period, with onshore breezes of 5 to 10 mph helping to push the marine layer inland.
A warming trend begins Sunday with temperatures gradually climbing back to normal early next week. By Monday, sunny skies will dominate with highs reaching the low 70s, and by Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures will climb into the upper 70s.
No severe weather advisories have been issued, but residents should be prepared for reduced visibility during morning commutes due to fog and potentially slick roads on Saturday.
