A mostly sunny day of moderate temperatures is in store for the Southland Friday on the eve of a possibly wet and definitely cool weekend.
Tonight a cold front will push temps to 50 degrees and bring a 20 percent chance of rain, according to National Weather Service forecasters.
Saturday morning rain “is likely” and bundle up for a chilly high of just 58 degrees, they said. Snow is expected on Mt. Wilson.
Sunday will see a 30 percent chance of showers before 11 p.m. in Pasadena under partly cloudy skies, with a high of 58.
The NWS forecast between a 10th and a quarter-inch of rain in most locations this weekend and a half-inch in the mountains and foothills, and 1 to 3 inches of snow above 5,000 feet.
Sunny skies will return Monday and a slow warming trend will get underway, but the highs will still be well below 70.
Forecasters attributed the expected inclement weather to a low- pressure system out of the Pacific.
