The Pasadena Rental Housing Board (PRHB) has adopted a resolution authorizes its vice chair to enter into contract with staffing agencies to provide an interim executive director and housing counselors for the board.
The resolution was passed without opposition during PRHB’s meeting on Wednesday.
Originally, the recommendation of the PRHB’s Staffing Committee was to authorize its chair Ryan Bell to enter into contract with staffing agencies that can provide interim staff but the board amended this to vice chair when Bell recused himself from voting on the item.
The Board’s Staffing Committee has been working with BHYV Consulting to prepare a staffing plan for the PRHB which is expected to be presented to the full Board no later than November.
Once a staffing plan is approved, it is likely to take several months to hire staff. This is why the Staffing Committee recommended that the board hire two interim housing counselors who will respond to the public’s inquiries related to the Measure H Charter Amendment and an executive director to supervise the housing counselors and assist with the other tasks that are necessary to set up the program.
The staffing agencies to be contracted with will be determined by the Staffing Committee.
BHYV Consulting will provide the job description to guide the Staffing Committee and the vice chair in finding the most appropriate candidates for the positions.
The hiring of the needed interim staff is expected to cost $149,998.
