Pasadena residents phoned the city’s help line 82,161 times over the past fiscal year and filed another 27,467 service requests through the City Service Center, most often about parking, according to the city.

The center — the city’s single ‘front door’ for non-emergency questions and requests — handled that volume across phone, web, live chat and a mobile app in the fiscal year that ended in June, its year-end activity report shows.

Parking enforcement was the single most-requested service, with 6,471 requests, followed by bulky-item pickups at 5,927 and graffiti removal at 5,565.

Reports of abandoned items (5,262), code-enforcement issues (2,854), missed trash pickups (2,497) and streetlight repairs (1,628) rounded out the seven most common requests — a snapshot of the everyday concerns residents bring to the city.

Beyond the phones, the center logged 575 live chats and 1,952 downloads of the Pasadena CSC mobile app over the year. It operates as what the city calls a “Live Answer” call center, connecting callers to a live attendant without an automated phone tree, with an after-hours system to route calls or take voicemail. Staff answer emails and after-hours voicemails within one business day, the city said.

The center functions as Pasadena’s central intake point for city services, comparable to the 311 non-emergency lines many U.S. cities operate.

Residents can reach it by phone, through the City Service Center’s online portal at https://www.cityofpasadena.net/city-service-center, a live-chat application or the Pasadena CSC mobile app.

The City Service Center can be reached Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at (626) 744-7311 or at csc@cityofpasadena.net.
