The massive band, formed after the pandemic, combines talented musicians from the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District and ABC Unified School District schools along the 605 Freeway corridor.
International performers will bring global flair to the iconic parade, with bands from Mexico, Panama, Denmark, and Japan joining American ensembles from across six states.
The All Star Marching Band from Mexico, recognized as that country’s highest-ranked marching band, will perform alongside Panama’s largest school ensemble, the Banda de Música Herberto López Colegio José Daniel Crespo.
Denmark’s contribution, the Helsingør Pigegarde, known as the Elsinore Girls Marching Band, will demonstrate their precision while Japan’s Kyoto Tachibana High School Green Band showcases traditional and contemporary Japanese music.
California’s representation includes seven bands, with the Fresno State Bulldog Marching Band standing out as the state’s largest and most successful collegiate marching ensemble.
The parade’s lineup features notable performers like Mississippi’s Jackson State University “Sonic Boom of the South” and Illinois’ Lincoln-Way Marching Band, known for innovative performances.
The 605 All Star Band has been preparing through various performances, including participation in the South Gate Children’s Christmas Lane Parade, to perfect their routine.
Other California participants include the Los Angeles Unified School District All District High School Honor Band, Pasadena City College Herald Trumpets, and the Salesians of Don Bosco Southern California High School Band from Rosemead.
Rounding out the roster are Homestead High School Mighty Mustang Marching Band from Cupertino, Rancho Verde Crimson Regiment from Moreno Valley, and the Seminole High School Warhawk Marching Band from Florida, known for their high-energy performances.
