The San Marino Motor Classic revealed details about its philanthropic mission during a recent panel discussion at the Flying “A” Garage, highlighting how a premier automobile showcase can transform a personal interest into a collective good. Representatives from five local nonprofit organizations gathered to discuss the event’s significant community contributions.
“Each year, the San Marino Motor Classic creates something special by bringing together people who share a passion for classic cars and a commitment to supporting our community,” said Ginny Hsiao, President of the Rotary Club of San Marino.
The 14th annual event will return to Lacy Park on August 23-24, featuring the Symphony of Cars Gala and the Automotive Fine Arts Society exhibit. Classic car enthusiasts can view world-class automobiles on display on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Beneficiary organizations include Pasadena Humane, San Marino Rotary Charities, GIVE-MENTOR-LOVE Foundation, Shriners Hospitals for Children – Southern California, and Cancer Support Community of San Gabriel Valley. Over its 13-year history, the event has raised more than $1.3 million for local charitable causes.
Longtime San Marino Mayor Gretchen Shepherd Romey praised the event’s leadership, noting its contributions to Lacy Park improvements, the San Marino Library Foundation, and San Marino Schools Foundation.
