Forecasters said Tuesday morning that highs will reach near 78 degrees under sunny skies, with light southwest winds around 5 mph. Overnight lows will dip to about 53 degrees under clear skies.
Winds are expected to increase Wednesday afternoon through Thursday, with gusts of 35 to 50 mph possible in mountain passes and freeway corridors. Localized gusts could reach 60 mph in exposed areas. Pasadena neighborhoods near canyons may feel stronger breezes as the system moves through.

The weather service said the strongest winds will occur Friday and Saturday, when advisory-level conditions may extend into valleys and coastal areas. Impacts could include downed tree limbs, power outages and hazardous driving conditions on the 210 Freeway. Pasadena residents are advised to secure outdoor items and prepare for possible disruptions.
While Pasadena is expected to remain dry, light showers are possible Wednesday night into Thursday morning in the Grapevine area. Early next week, forecasters noted a low-confidence chance of very light rain in eastern Los Angeles County.
