The Shakespeare Club of Pasadena hosted its 62nd annual scholarship luncheon May 17th. The Villa on South Grand Ave was festively adorned in the colors of the Pasadena High schools to celebrate the event. Students from John Marshall, Blair, Pasadena and John Muir High schools were presented with scholarships for their academic success.
Benito Urrutia, John Marshall HS; Ian Taylor, Blair HS; Diana Castro, PHS; Paola Nieto, John Muir HS each received a $2,000.00 scholarship to help ensure success as they attend college this fall.
The Club was honored to have Mayor Terry Tornek present to congratulate the students on their achievements. In addition, Elizabeth Pomeroy, PUSD Board Member also was also present to celebrate the students’ achievements.
The Shakespeare Club of Pasadena was organized in 1888 and has the distinction of being the oldest women’s club in Southern California. The Club has a rich history of supporting Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley Community through cultural and philanthropic service projects providing support to those in need.
