The Pasadena Police Department and Pasarroyo are joining forces to host a “Coffee with a Cop” event on Thursday, May 30th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Pasarroyo, located at 225 S. Lake Ave.
The event, which offers free coffee and donuts sponsored by Dunkin’, aims to break down barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve by providing an informal setting for open dialogue and community engagement.
“Coffee with a Cop” is a national initiative that has gained popularity since its launch by the Hawthorne, California, Police Department in March 2011.
The program has expanded to all 50 states and several countries worldwide, with the goal of enhancing community trust through casual, one-on-one interactions in a relaxed environment.
The event at Pasarroyo will follow the program’s core principles, offering a neutral, comfortable space for community members to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know their local officers on a personal level. By removing agendas and speeches, the initiative encourages open communication and mutual understanding between law enforcement and the public.
“The mission of Coffee with a Cop is to break down the barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve,” the Pasadena Police Department stated. “This can be accomplished by removing agendas and allowing opportunities to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the officers in your community.”
The event is free to attend, with coffee and donuts available while supplies last. For more information, please visit PASARROYO or call 626-792-5161.
