Recently, Pasadena City College women’s basketball forward Marquetta Stokes passed the 500-point mark in her Lancers’ career as she became the 26th player in school history to achieve the feat.
Stokes is at 524 points through 51 games played at PCC. A 5-foot-11 sophomore from Oakland Tech, Stokes currently holds the No. 23 spot on the all-time scoring list. Only two of the players on the 500-point club played prior to when Joe Peron became Lancers’ head coach in 1996-1997.
Stokes (pictured, No. 32) scored 36 points in a game this season and is second on the team in scoring average with a mark of 12.8 points per game. She is tied for the team lead in field goals (94), and tops the squad in overall free throws made (80). Her .409 shooting percentage tops the Lancers as does her 44 steals.
