A pursuit involving a stolen motorcycle Friday evening ended without an arrest after officers called off the chase due to dangerous driving, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Matt Campeau.

Campeau reported that at approximately 5:33 p.m. on June 13, officers responded to an alert regarding a stolen Honda RX 600 motorcycle in the area of Hill Avenue and Washington Boulevard.

Officers reportedly located the motorcycle near the intersection of Lake Avenue and Mountain Street and attempted a traffic stop but the rider failed to yield, prompting officers to begin a pursuit.

The motorcycle drove at high rates of speed and, due to the erratic driving of the rider, the pursuit was canceled, Campeau said.

Campeau said the chase covered about 1.55 miles and lasted approximately three minutes before officers determined it was too dangerous to continue.

The stolen motorcycle was later recovered in Eagle Rock by Los Angeles Police Department Northeast Division officers.

Ultimately no suspects were found at the scene when the motorcycle was recovered, and no injuries were reported in connection with the incident,Campeau confirmed.
