Most importantly, the college is opening up to students who are questioning and exploring their future education options, college officials said. Several current students will be onsite to speak about their education and experience at the college.
“We are using some of our current students to introduce themselves and talk about what they do here at the school. They’ll be taking vital signs, we’ll talk about our ultrasound programs, which can also help with breast cancer detection. We’re opening up to students to talk about what their future holds, about what educational options they might have for themselves and to make a difference in their lives,” said Associate Director of Admissions at Integrity College of Health, Gail Godown.
Godown added that the open house will be formatted much like a community service program, with a free presentation on breast cancer awareness and CPR, vital sign checks, and a demonstration of their sonography or ultrasound program.

The event will also include a barbecue, raffle draws and music.
“We’ll have some activities for the kids,” Godown said. “We’ll also have safety, the Fire Department and how to be safe for Halloween, how to get your candy X-rayed, and where you can do that here in the community. We’re going to have some raffles with safety buckets, emergency buckets. So we’ll have those as one of our raffle prizes.”
Some of the organizations the college partners with – including healthcare industry companies – will field representatives at the open house.
“The market is always increasing in the health industries,”Godown said.
Integrity College of Health currently offers six programs, including medical assisting, nursing, vocational nursing, ultrasound, medical billing and coding, and associate in applied science. Classes are mostly hybrid, so students can take advantage of doing lab and clinical work on campus and online study.
For the Open House, Alice Thompson, Director of the college’s nursing program, is organizing the breast cancer awareness presentation, which will have a panel of doctors and clinicians to discuss breast cancer awareness, diagnosis and treatment.
“We’ll be dovetailing that with our ultrasound programs, ultrasound technology, and how that can actually help out a lot in detecting breast cancer,” Godown said, adding that men can also attend the presentation, because not many of the male population are aware that breast cancer can also afflict them. “They don’t have regular mammograms. Sometimes when that becomes an issue, it’s already far down the path.”
Integrity College of Health is located at 1460 N. Lake Avenue, Suite 102 in Pasadena. During the open house, parking will be available on Rio Grande Street. The event will be indoors.
