Suspect Arrested After Elderly Woman Assaulted in Pasadena Home Burglary, Police Say

A transient woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon after breaking into a home on the 1300 block of Lombardy Road, assaulting an 83-year-old resident, and stealing property, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Matt Campeau.

Officers responded to a residential burglary call at approximately 1:51 p.m. on June 25, Campeau said.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim outside her residence.

The victim reported that she heard noises coming from the kitchen area and initially assumed a relative had entered. When she went to investigate, she encountered an unknown woman who immediately became aggressive, yelling and physically assaulting her by pushing and shoving her around the room, Campeau said.

Fearing for her safety, the victim fled the residence and called 911. She later complained of pain resulting from the assault, though it was not immediately clear if she required medical treatment, according to Campeau.

Responding officers searched the home and located the suspect, identified as Annette Sirnes, a 57-year-old woman, in a bedroom, Campeau said. Officers allegedly discovered property belonging to the victim in Sirnes’ possession. Sirnes was taken into custody without incident and transported for booking, Campeau reported.

Sirnes faces charges including residential burglary, providing false identification, and elder abuse, according to Campeau.
