A four-year-old girl sustained minor injuries when a rock thrown by a suspect shattered a glass door at a daycare center on Thursday afternoon, according to police.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:03 p.m. in the 100 block of North Halstead Street, Lieutenant Andrea Perez of the Pasadena Police Department said.
Officers responded to a call about vandalism at a private daycare facility, but the suspect had already fled the scene by the time they arrived.
Perez said that an employee at the daycare center told investigators the suspect had been loitering outside the facility. When asked to leave, the man became irate and threw a rock at the front glass door.
The rock penetrated the glass door and struck the victim, a four year old girl who was sleeping in the room, Perez said. The child suffered minor bruising to her hip and was treated at the scene by the Pasadena Fire Department. No other children were injured during the incident.
According to Perez, the suspect is believed to be transient.
