A significant heat wave will grip Pasadena beginning Monday, with temperatures climbing into the 90s by midweek, forecasters said. The National Weather Service reported the warming trend will peak Wednesday, bringing above-normal afternoon highs and a slight chance of showers.
Today’s high is expected near 82 degrees under partly sunny skies, with light southwest winds shifting south-southwest at 5 to 10 mph. Overnight lows will fall to about 63 degrees.
Temperatures will rise Tuesday to near 89 degrees and reach about 91 degrees Wednesday. Winds will remain light, generally calm in the mornings and increasing slightly in the afternoons. Forecasters said mid-level moisture Wednesday could trigger isolated showers, though rainfall amounts will be minimal.
The warming trend will ease Thursday, with highs near 88 degrees. Cooling continues Friday through Sunday, with highs dropping to 85 degrees Friday, 83 degrees Saturday and 78 degrees Sunday. Overnight lows will range from the upper 50s to mid-60s.
Winds across Pasadena will stay light, with no advisory-level gusts expected. The National Weather Service said typical onshore breezes will continue in the afternoons and evenings.
A heat advisory remains in effect for Los Angeles County, including Pasadena, from Tuesday through Thursday evening. Officials urged residents to take precautions against heat stress, especially during outdoor activities.
The extended forecast shows continued cooling into next week, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s and marine layer clouds returning in the mornings.
