Under beautiful sunny Rose Parade-like skies, the Tournament of Roses announced the selection of seven young women to serve as Princesses on the 2025 Rose Court on Monday morning.

The announcement ceremony took place on the south garden steps of Tournament House before a crowd of nearly 200 parents, schoolmates, friends, and Tournament officials.

Leigh Gluck, Chair of the Tournament of Roses Queen and Court Committee, emceed the event.

“These 28 young ladies who you are about to meet have once again impressed us, astounded us, and delighted us with their maturity, their humor, their wisdom, and their fearlessness in an increasingly challenging world,” said Gluck before she introduced the finalists.

Tournament of Roses President Ed Morales asked the crowd, “So when was your best day ever?” and went on to say that “for us here in Pasadena, we get to have our best day ever every single year on January 1st when the world tunes into a spectacular international parade.”

Morales then announced the selected 2025 Rose Court princesses, possibly making Monday the best day ever for these outstanding young women:

    • Lisette Parker, Maranatha High School
    • Saniyah Brunston, John Muir High School
    • Lara Georgian, Mayfield Senior School
    • Natalia Pradhan, Flintridge Preparatory School
    • Simone Ball, Arcadia High School
    • Lindsay Charles, Westridge School
    • Kate Kelly, La Cañada High School

These official Rose Court Princesses were chosen from a pool of 28 finalists; applicants from 49 Pasadena area schools participated in the interview process.

Until this year, the Court has been drawn from the Pasadena Area Community College District. For 2025, the Tournament broadened the eligible area to include the following zip codes: 90032 (Los Angeles/El Sereno), 90041 (Los Angeles/Eagle Rock), 90042 (Los Angeles/Highland Park), 91775 (San Gabriel), 91776 (San Gabriel), 91801 (Alhambra), and 91803 (Alhambra).

To qualify, applicants needed to be full-time residents and either high school seniors or full-time students (taking at least 12 units) at any accredited institution.

Selection criteria included academic achievement, community and school involvement, public speaking ability, and youth leadership. The Queen and Court Committee, composed of volunteer members, made the final selections.

Rose Court members will participate in personal development programs aimed at improving their public speaking and presentation skills, building self-confidence, and refining their etiquette. They will also engage in community service, make meaningful contributions, and network with local leaders.

The next step in the process will be the announcement and coronation of the 106th Rose Queen on October 29. The complete 2025 Rose Court will then represent Pasadena in the 136th Rose Parade presented by Honda and attend the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the 111th Rose Bowl Game presented by Prudential, both on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
