The Pasadena Tournament of Roses is scheduled to name the seven members of the 2027 Rose Court early Monday, Sept. 28, at Tournament House, choosing from 28 finalists.

Each member selected will receive a $7,500 academic scholarship and will represent the Tournament at community events leading up to New Year’s Day, the organization said. The court is set to ride in the 138th Rose Parade on Friday, Jan. 1, 2027, and to attend the College Football Playoff quarterfinal at the 113th Rose Bowl Game the same day.

The 108th Rose Queen is scheduled to be announced and crowned at Tournament House on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

The Tournament said the finalists will be joined by friends, family and Tournament members for Monday’s announcement, an event with a live band that it said brings nearly 200 people together.

The finalists were announced Tuesday, Sept. 22, and attend 14 schools. Nine are students at Pasadena High School, John Muir High School, Thurgood Marshall Secondary School, Polytechnic School, Mayfield Senior School and Maranatha High School. The others attend Arcadia High School, South Pasadena High School, San Marino High School, La Canada High School, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, La Salle College Preparatory, Mark Keppel High School and Eagle Rock High School.

Applicants from 41 Pasadena-area schools took part in the selection process, which included interview sessions at Tournament House in early September. Volunteer members of its Queen and Court Committee chose the finalists based on criteria including academic achievement, community and school involvement, public speaking ability and youth leadership.

Court members attend nearly 100 community and media functions during their year of service, the Tournament said, before riding the Rose Court float in the parade on New Year’s Day.
