The Pasadena City College men’s basketball team recorded its second straight victory in South Coast Conference North Division play over visiting Los Angeles City, 77-60, on Friday.
The Lancers (11-13 overall, 2-4 in conference play) avenged an earlier road loss to the Cubs on Jan. 21.
Churchill Ikenador scored a team-high 15 points, making 6-for-8 from the field, Julian Thompkins was a perfect 6-for-6 shooting for 14 points and three steals, and reserve Brandin Jackson netted 14 points, sinking a trio of 3-pointers.
Team captain Darrius Freeman added eight points and five rebounds while Donovan Ford contributed six points, five assists and three steals off the Lancers bench.
Freeman’s basket-and-one capped a 10-0 run to end the first half as the Lancers led 43-33. LACC never threatened in the second half as PCC played the full 40 minutes well in sealing the triumph.
This Wednesday, Feb. 11, PCC will travel to face LA Trade-Tech in a 5 p.m. SCC North contest.
