A pair of shootings occurred on Hammond Street on Friday and Saturday, leaving one man injured with a bullet wound to his knee, according to police.
The first shooting spree erupted Friday night at 7:52 p.m. when two occupants of a newer model red SUV fired off four gunshots at people along the street near the intersection of Hammond Street and North Sunset Avenue, according to Lieutenant Derek Locklin.
The apparent targets were three occupants of a gray sedan which was parked parked as the people inside spoke with a man on the sidewalk.
As the gunfire erupted, an innocent bystander walking along the sidewalk was shot in the knee.
The suspects’ red vehicle and the victims in the gray sedan sped off. The man who had been shot approached police officers in the area and reported the shooting, Locklin said.
The injured man was stabilized at the scene and transported to a local hospital by Pasadena Fire Department paramedics.
The victims in the gray sedan and the shooters in the SUV remain unidentified and at large, he said.
On Saturday at 9:20 p.m., gunfire rang out again one block away from the Friday night shooting.
Locklin said shots were reported and officers found evidence of a shooting in the 100 block of West Hammond Street. There were no injuries in the second shooting incident.
