Charlie Gallardo, Pasadena City College’s Women’s Athlete of the Year for all sports the past two years, has officially transferred to play/attend at defending NCAA Division II women’s soccer national champion Cal Poly Pomona.

Gallardo will be a junior midfielder on the Broncos 2025 squad and is one of just three players who joined the CPP program after playing at a California Community College. She will play under United Soccer Coaches National Coach of the Year and Broncos HC Jay Mason.

At PCC, Gallardo established herself as one of the Lancers all-time greats in the sport, leading the 2024 Lancers to the greatest season in program history under SoCal Region Coach of the Year Terryn Soelberg.

Gallardo’s skill and playmaking ability allowed her to become the South Coast Conference Offensive MVP as she led the conference in points scoring on 17 goals and nine assists (43 points). She was an All-State midfielder and she finished seventh on PCC’s all-time scoring list.

A 2-time, All-SCC First Team selection, Gallardo scored the winning goal to allow the Lancers to capture its first SCC Tournament Championship. A solid 3.6 GPA in the classroom, she was a team leader on the two most successful teams in women’s soccer history—34 wins, a record 19 in 2024 as the Lancers made it all the way to the Regional Finals. She came to PCC from Monrovia High School.

Gallardo’s signing added to the already largest transfer class ever in women’s soccer with nine players moving to university programs.
