Despite an ongoing legal dispute surrounding UCLA’s Rose Bowl ‘residency,’ the Bruins will take the field Saturday night, Nov. 8, at the stadium for a high-profile Big Ten matchup against the Nebraska Cornhuskers — an event expected to draw one of the largest home crowds of the season.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be nationally televised on FOX. The game marks UCLA’s return from a bye week and a chance to rebound from a 56-6 wipeout loss to Indiana. At 3-5 overall and 3-2 in Big Ten play, the Bruins are fighting to remain bowl eligible. Nebraska enters at 6-3 and 3-3 in conference play, starting freshman quarterback TJ Lateef after losing Dylan Raiola to a season-ending injury.
Local residents should prepare for elevated traffic, noise, and restricted access throughout the day.
The Rose Bowl Operating Company has issued the following stadium advisory:
- Recreational Loop Closure: The loop will be closed Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- Equestrian Trail Access: The trail will remain open at all times.
- Pyrotechnics and Special Effects: Brief pyrotechnic effects will occur when UCLA runs onto the field, after each touchdown, and if the Bruins win. The total pyrotechnic display is expected to last under 60 seconds.
- Drone Displays: A brief drone display will take place during the third quarter, followed by a 10-minute drone show immediately after the game.
Locals should expect peak traffic between 4:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Pasadena Transit and Rose Bowl shuttles will be in operation.
For assistance on Saturday, Nov. 8, residents may contact the Rose Bowl Event Day Resident Hotline between 12:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. at (626) 397-4141.
