Victim Struck in Face By Rock During Confrontation Sunday

A man was struck in the face with a rock during a confrontation at a get-together in the 500 block of Wyoming St. at 8:25 p.m. Sunday night, police report.

The victim, Jose Ayala-Hernandez, 48, of Pasadena, received minor cuts and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Pasadena police Lt. Tom Delgado said that the “suspect went to the victim’s home with several friends” and a confrontation ensued.

“The victim armed himself with a knife, walked outside” Delgado said, “The suspect picked up a rock, threw it, and hit the individual in the face.”

Police arrested the suspect, identified as Jose Monroy, 34, of Los Angeles. Monroy was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
