Warm, dry weather will dominate Pasadena through the weekend before cooler temperatures and a chance of rain arrive early next week, forecasters said Friday.
The National Weather Service in Los Angeles said highs will reach near 85 degrees Saturday, the warmest day of the period. Temperatures will then cool into the low 70s by Tuesday as a Pacific storm system approaches Southern California.
Friday’s conditions included sunny skies with highs near 80 degrees. Winds shifted from northeast to west-southwest at 5 to 10 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph. Overnight lows were expected around 50 degrees.
Forecasters said Saturday will be sunny with highs near 85 and light winds. Sunday will be mostly sunny with highs near 82. Cooling begins Monday, with highs near 77 under clear skies.
Rain chances return Tuesday and Wednesday. The weather service said Los Angeles County could see less than half an inch of rain, though isolated thunderstorms could produce heavier downpours. Showers may linger into Thursday depending on the storm’s track.
Strong Santa Ana winds affecting parts of Los Angeles County Friday morning were expected to diminish by afternoon. Pasadena itself was not under a wind advisory.
The extended forecast calls for clearing skies and highs in the mid-70s Thursday. Forecasters said the following week should bring seasonable, dry conditions.
