And now for the news about the weatherman.
KABC’s award-winning meteorologist Dallas Raines and wife Danielle W. Raines seem to want an atmospheric change of residence as they posted for sale their 1998 four-bedroom home nestled at 1437 Rutherford Drive in Pasadena for $1.8 million.
The Raineses’ eye-catching Mediterranean Revival home has a total living space of 4,328 square feet and was bought by the couple on May 9, 2006 for $1.9 million from Colleen Anderson Caballero and Vincent Caballero.
The estate, located in the Brookside neighborhood, has four bedrooms and four bathrooms and features a patio, two towers – one round and one square – and many windows with views of the San Gabriel Valley.
The 54-year-old meteorologist and his wife sold their former home, in the same general neighborhood, in late 2005. Thomas Bluemel of Coldwell Banker is the listing agent for the $1.8 million home.
Raines has been forecasting Southland weather for KABC Channel 7 in Los Angeles since July 1984 and can currently be seen on the network’s 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts Monday through Friday.
Before joining the station, he was a weathercaster and chief meteorologist for the “Evening News” on CNN. He has won a Golden Mike from the Radio & Television News Association and awards from the Associated Press.
Raines was named the “Best Weatherperson in Los Angeles” in the The Los Angeles Daily News people’s choice awards in 2004-2006 and in 2001. He also serves as a meteorology professor at Cal-State Northridge. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University.
