A 41-year-old Upland woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a fatal stabbing at a multi-unit residential building in Pasadena on Wednesday, November 6.
Shante Ferguson was taken into custody after police discovered 38-year-old Cory Davis, a Pasadena resident, suffering from multiple stab wounds in a unit within the 200 block of East Orange Grove Boulevard, according to Pasadena Police Department officials.
Officers responded to a “trouble unknown” call at approximately 12:33 a.m. and found Davis unresponsive inside the residence. Despite life-saving efforts by police officers and Pasadena Fire Department paramedics, Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police initially detained two adult females at the location, with Ferguson subsequently arrested and booked under Penal Code 69 for felony resisting arrest and two misdemeanor violations. Following an investigation by the Department’s Robbery/Homicide Unit, authorities amended the booking charges to include Penal Code 187 (Homicide).
The motive for the killing remains under investigation, police said.
