Police said a 60-year-old Pasadena woman was beaten to death in Pasadena on Thursday afternoon and a suspect is in custody.
Lt. Rudy Lemos told Pasadena Now that officers were called to the scene of a fight in a parking lot in the 400 block of North Los Robles Ave. and when they arrived, found the body of a woman.
Pasadena Fire Dept. paramedics were called to the scene and attempted lifesaving medical treatment, but the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. City News Service said police identified the woman as Corina Monroy.
About 10 p.m. Thursday, detectives arrested Carolina Hernandez, 40, of
Pasadena, who was booked on suspicion of murder.
Police have not said what the fight was about.
Online booking records indicate that Hernandez was being held in the Pasadena Jail in lieu of a $2 million bond.
