A woman’s body was found near the East Pasadena Target parking lot early Friday morning.
Authorities said her death was “not Covid related and [the] death is under investigation.”
Pasadena police and firefighters were called to scene at 3121 E. Colorado Blvd. at about 8:25 a.m., according to Lt. Anthony Russo.
Russo said the woman was Hispanic and appeared to be in her 40’s.
He said the woman had evidently passed away at the location of unknown causes, but no foul play was suspected.
“Target has it shut down too so that they can disinfect and do their standard procedure” prior to reopening, Russo said.
He said the L.A. County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office had taken custody of the body and is investigating the woman’s cause of death.
The woman’s identity has not yet been released.
