World Central Kitchen announced updated distribution locations for its local Eaton Wildfire relief operations starting Monday, Feb. 24, consolidating its services into two sites.
The organization said it has served more than 850,000 meals in the region since January 8.
Director of Communications and Media Strategy at World Central Kitchen Carrie Hayes said that under the updated arrangement, residents can access services at the Sierra Madre YMCA (611 E Sierra Madre Blvd. in Sierra Madre) and Gordy’s Garage Parking Lot (843 West Woodbury Rd. in Altadena).
Both locations will offer hot meals seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Potable water distribution will be available Monday through Saturday during the same hours.
The organization also provides fresh produce through farmers market distributions on Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Our volunteer hub site is regularly updated based on our evolving needs, so those interested should check back often,” Hayes noted. Volunteers receive on-site training for tasks including hot food preparation, meal delivery, and loading and unloading food and kitchen supplies.
