Masuda Maintains Big Lead

As of 6:30 a.m Wednesday, Gene Masuda leads all candidates with 60.69 percent of the vote in the District 4 City Council Race.

Char Bland is in a distant second (719 votes, 18.27 percent), followed by Joe Baghdadlian (603 votes, 15.32 percent), and Kevin Wheeler (225 votes, 5.72 percent), according to results announced on the website of the L.A. County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk.

If no candidate gets 50 percent of the vote, there will be a runoff in November between the top two vote-getters.

District 4 encompasses East Pasadena, including the neighborhoods of Upper Hastings Ranch, Lower Hastings Ranch, Daisy-Villa, Eaton Blanche, East Eaton Wash, Eaton Canyon Wash, East Orange Grove, Fox Ridge/Canyon Close, Loma Vista, Sierra Madre Villa, and Victory Rose.
