According to the Los Angeles County Registrar’s Office there will be no update of the vote count from the March 3 election today.

“We are scheduled to update election results and estimates on outstanding ballots Tuesday, March 10,” said Mike Sanchez, public information officer in a prepared statement.

According to previous information, the county plans to post updates primarily on Tuesdays and Fridays going forward. So far, 1,447,938, (26.26 percent) of eligible Los Angeles County voters have been counted.

There are about 678,050 votes from across LA County left to count. County officials estimate 546,000 of those are mail-in ballots.

Vote tallies released on Friday afternoon confirmed the mayor’s race is almost certainly headed for a November 3 runoff as neither candidate so far has been able to gain more than 50 percent.

Councilman Victor Gordo holds 46.13 percent (from 46.14 percent 24-hours earlier). Incumbent Mayor Terry Tornek’s holds 41.82 percent of the vote.

Gordo declared victory in the primary election last week.

“Let me first begin by saying thank you to each of you individually and all of you collectively for working so hard for our campaign and the people of Pasadena,” Gordo said. “We are proud to announce a resounding victory.”

Meanwhile, Tornek said he had a lot of work to do between now and November.

“The good news is, it gives me time to do what I do best, which is walk and talk to voters, and that’s what I’ll be doing,’’ Tornek said.

In city district races, District 1 Councilman Tyron Hampton ran unopposed. District 4 and District 6 incumbents Gene Masuda and Steve Madison are above 50 percent, with 59.65 and 52.57 percent of the vote respectively.

In District 2, political newcomer Felicia Williams holds an impressive 51.93 percent lead over three opponents. Current District 2 Councilmember Margaret McAustin is not seeking reelection.
