Pasadena-Based Maya Cinemas Names Marc Walton Chief Financial Officer

Maya Cinemas North America Inc., whose main offices are located at 150 S. Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena, has named Marc Walton as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer.
“I’m thrilled to bring Marc and his wealth of experience to the team at such an exciting time in Maya’s development,” Maya Founder and CEO Moctesuma Esparza said in a statement.
Maya Cinemas, chartered in 2001, operates modern, first-run, megaplex movie theaters in primarily underserved, family oriented, Latino-dominant communities. Its theaters are located in Bakersfield, Delano, Fresno, Pittsburg and Salinas and offer first-run Hollywood movies.
The company said they plan to open a 14-screen state-of-the-art multiplex in Las Vegas, similar to its existing high-end cinemas that are focused on quality of design and state-of-the-art presentation technologies.
Walton worked for Millennia Housing Management Ltd. as chief accounting officer. Previously, he was with GK Management Co., Inc. as chief financial officer.
His cinema exhibition experience includes 10 years at Reading International, Inc., which currently owns and operates 56 cinemas.
Walton’s financial expertise is grounded in rapidly changing organizations making him well suited for Maya, the company statement said.
In addition to his financial background, Walton also served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 24 years as an intelligence officer and retired as a lieutenant colonel.
